About

We like working here. We work hard, and in return we get to have fun and learn cool new things in an adaptive, open-minded and supportive environment.

As techies at Trainline, we’re empowered to make decisions and given freedom to choose our own tech. This means we get to learn lots of new, cutting edge technology and have discussions at developer level on the best way of driving things forward, whilst ensuring things we build are supported and amenable to change in the future.

We love to pair and to share knowledge, both within our clusters and with the wider team. Sometimes this knowledge sharing happens in the form of lunchtime ‘Burrito sessions’, in which we learn about a relevant tech topic while eating… erm, pizza.

Our lovely head office is at 120 Holborn, close to London’s tech epicentre and walking distance from both the West End and the City. Our other offices are in Edinburgh (call centre) and Paris (Trainline Europe). We enjoy free fruit baskets, soft drinks and monthly Thirsty Thursday evenings. We also have an annual company away day and a Christmas party, which allows us to catch up with colleagues from the other offices.

Trainline’s engineering team has over 100 people working on all aspects of software, infrastructure, networks, devOps, APIs and UX for Trainline and our B2B systems. We’re always looking for talented engineers who can bring something extra to the team. If you are passionate about engineering web systems, we’d love to hear from you. Drop us an email at recruitment@thetrainline.com or take a look at our jobs website.
